A snapshot look at Christ the King Catholic School
- Grades PreK (ages 4-5) through 8th grade.
- One class per grade level with an average of 25 students per classroom.
- All Classroom Teachers are faith-filled Catholics, certified, highly qualified educators and Catechists. All classroom teachers have Masters Degrees or equivalent.
- Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for grades Pre-K through Third. Each class attends a 60-minute session weekly in a group of 10-12 students. All grades participate in academic religion classes daily, as well as faith and values incorporated throughout the school day. Theology of the Body is taught in grades Prek – 5 (with rollout to grades 6-8 in development)
- School day is 7:45 am – 3:00 pm. 1:30 pm dismissal every Friday.
- School Mass is held every Wednesday at 8 am in the church and parents are invited.
- All grades (K-8) attend classes in Spanish, Music or Drama, Physical Education, Library, Art and Computers.
- Smartboards in every classroom (K-8), computer lab with 30 student computers and a technology teacher. Students have 1:1 access to technology throughout the day. Younger students use ipads and older students use Chromebooks.
- Accelerated Reading programs allow students to read at a challenge, but not frustration level.
- Tuition– Active member of ANY parish in Diocese of Phoenix or Tucson $5,600, Non-active registered Catholic and non-Catholics pay a slightly higher rate.
- Pastor’s discount available for second, thrid and fourth (or more) children.
- Abundant tuition assistance is available through CEA (Catholic Education Arizona) and other Scholarship Programs. Christ the King Catholic School receives significant funding through the state of Arizona recommended tax credit programs.
- Uniforms: Official school polo shirts with navy blue pants/shorts. Girls wear jumpers (K-4) or skirts (5-8) on mass days, optional on other days. Uniforms shirts, jumpers and skirts available from Dennis Uniforms or Educational Outfitters. Pre K uniform shirts can be purchased through the school office and worn with navy blue pants/shorts/skorts.
- Lunch can be purchased daily, with the option of a hot entrée daily or a choice of chef salad, baked potato, PB&J, milk, water and juice sold separately.
- Shade covered, non sand playground
- Afterschool sports offered for grades 5-8 through the Catholic Youth Athletic Association
- Band offered weekly and incorporated into school day in addition to Chess Club, Drama, and electives
- School nurse onsite
- Fully accredited by Western Catholic Educational Association.
