With the availability of a variety of technology at Christ the King, the students take on increasing ownership of their learning. Khan Academy can help. Students are assigned videos to watch, and then do exercises within Khan Academy. When a student doesn’t yet understand a concept they can watch a variety of short clips in Khan Academy that approach the topic in different learning styles, they can watch it over and over again!
Students who like to have the edge can watch the video before instruction in the classroom, and those with a thirst for knowledge can explore videos in many subject areas on their own.
Students with gaps in their skills can participate in instruction at different levels to fill in the holes. There is no fee for Khan Academy. The Math Program at Christ the King uses Khan Academy as part of the instructional program in grades 5-8.
