Religious Education

At a Catholic School, there is a partnership in the faith development of our children. The school celebrates that parents are the primary and first teachers of the Faith. We recognize that it is important to go to church and celebrate the sacraments together.  Children begin to understand that attending Mass on Sundays and Holy Days is an obligation AND a privilege, especially as they complete their Sacraments: Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation. The Sacraments  are not just celebrations for a day, but a way of living for a lifetime.  They provide the graces needed to fulfill a life as a follower of Jesus.  As we teach the Faith within our school walls, we do so with joy and love for Christ’s Church!

Our Daily Prayer

God, our loving Father, we offer You everything we do this day – our work, our studies, our efforts, our play, our difficulties. Join these gifts to the offering, which Jesus, Your Son and our Brother, renews today in the Eucharist. Grant, we pray, that through Your Holy Spirit,  our lives may be of loving service to You and to our neighbor.

Christ the King, have mercy on us. Christ the King, be with us and bring us to your Father.   Amen.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Atrium

This special classroom feels different from the very first moment.  The presence of Christ and His connection with children is profound.

Atrium is a special opportunity for your child to grow in his or her relationship with Jesus, the Good Shepherd.  It supplements the homeroom religion class by giving children an opportunity to spend time reflecting on the Word of God and the Mass in a way that brings their faith experience from the head to the heart.  We hope you will value your child’s time in the atrium as much as we do at Christ the King.

Students from Pre-Kindergarten through third grade participate in weekly atrium sessions where we learn about practical life which prepares us to participate more fully in the Mass, articles and gestures of the Mass, how to read the Bible, and scripture study related to the life of Jesus and the parables he taught.
